Hey guys, I hope you're doing well. Let's talk about yellow spots in the lawn. I'm here in Riverton meeting with a person we just signed up to take care of their lawn, they have yellow spots. And guess what they have their hose out because they thought it was a watering issue, but it is not. So let me show you exactly what to look for. To find out if it's just a watering issue a drought issue or something else. Let's flip the camera around here. So what you're going to want to do, you're going to want to go to the area where you have some green and some yellow, you're going to want to grab a handful nice and deep. See how easy that whole thing peels back. That's a really good indicator that something is chewing up the lawn. I'm not talking about just pulling up the top layer. What will happen if you have drought stress as well. But if you pull this layer back, do some digging, do some investigating. And right here we have found what is called Blue Grass weevil to white bug white larvae with a red tip. An indicator of these is you'll see little white moths flying all over the lawn when you're mowing lawn or walking across the lawn. These things are what is doing the damage. So don't get out there and just water more especially because we're in a drought. Get down there. Take a look to see what's going on from blue grass weevil to sod worm damage and if you need help it dentifying what the problem could be, head over to our blog page to view our lawn care and pest control tips and tricks.
